Description
In this painting Susan Pitjara Hunter depicts the Bush Honey Flower Dreaming and the ceremony associated with that Dreaming. She and other women sit and chant the songlines that have been passed down to them from their ancestors. At these ceremonial meetings Susan and the other women from her country pass on their dreamings to the younger ones. This knowledge of the Bush Honey Flower and it’s importance connects the women to particular areas of land. Some knowledge is to be known only by women and is described as Women’s Business.
